UK-based global content distribution outfit Outright Distribution has announced a brand new volume deal with Fox International Channels in Italy which sees the channel acquiring a collection of films from a range of producers represented by the distributor.

The properties come from within the Shed Media Group and through 3rd party representation including Touch Productions, Ricochet, Twenty Twenty, Screentime and Wall To Wall. The package kicks off with the 1x60’ Virgin Memories from Touch Productions and the 70 minute documentary special to mark the 20 year anniversary of the bombing of Greenpeace flagship, entitled In the Wake of the Rainbow Warrior from Screentime in Australia. Then the 4 x 60’ series Blood Sweat & T-Shirts followed by half hour special The Crippendales produced by Ricochet and 4 x 60’ Grandad’s Back in Business, produced by Twenty Twenty are headed for Fox’s Cult channel.

For Fox’s History Channel, the distributor has licensed 90’ docudrama First Columbus and one hour special for BBC2 Pope John Paul – The War Years both from Wall To Wall. The broadcaster has also extended its option on global smash Wall To Wall format Who Do You Think You Are? working with producer Wilder.

This deal, brokered by Sales Executive Kelly Bordiuk is the first sale to Fox Channels International Italy by Outright. Bordiuk explained:’ The Wall to Wall style of historical drama docs really suits History so the Columbus and Pope films are a perfect fit for it and the Cult channel features high quality contemporary films, documentaries and series that show reality from non-conventional perspectives - each of the titles in this package deliver this. To be able to package so many hours for Fox is a real coup especially as it’s through a new relationship and therefore new revenue stream.’

With Outright’s catalogue and business growing at a steady rate, Lesley Fullerton has been brought on board to shore up the marketing activities. Fullerton left University and got her first job with music specialist distributor 3DD as Marketing and Programming Assistant was then promoted to Marketing Manager. She fills the same role at Outright with responsibility for all marketing including the preparation and management of all markets and events, web-site maintenance, advertising and promotional materials. Lesley will also provide a support role to MD Chris Bonney for Outright’s 3rd party acquisitions strategy.

In further people news, Solange Ribeiro Murphy will join the distributor in time for MipCom whilst Belinda Ronalds, VP Sales for Spain, Portugal, Latin America and Benelux, goes on maternity leave. Solange’s previous position was at C4i where she was Programme Sales Executive.
